A kangaroo leather upper and sock liner feels soft against the foot, yet is strong and tear resistant, with outstanding breathability. A 4mm EVA midsole offers plating protection from stone bruising, and a lightly cleated 4mm Vibram performance rubber outsole delivers improved traction on trails and over more rugged terrain.

    It's not the same as the TrekSport (There's a bit more foam between you and the ground with those- which you almost want if you're running for extended periods on pavement...) but it's an excellent overall shoe. Good for a light trail run or to wear as a casual shoe- however, the leather will make the shoes slightly warmer to wear than the KSO's would be (One of my other minimalist shoes).

    I bought mine for casual wear at work and elsewhere (when business casual was not required...) and they work out well. If you're looking for the black ones, you'll find them a bit hard to get in the stores (they sell out pretty quick) so you may want to call ahead or order it online once you know your proper size. Brown's a bit more likely to be obtained in the stores. (Posted on 3/27/12)
